The objective of the project is to plan an efficient and identity-forming public transport mobility route in tandem with a bicycle path across the city of Ludwigsburg - from the A81 junction in the west to the Neckar River in the east.
This new mobility route is to established itself alongside the historic north-south running baroque axis as a second defining corridor. The route itself, as well as the mobility points, arranged like a string of beads, are seen as sociologically and environmentally valuable urban building blocks that bring added value to the surrounding neighborhoods. In addition to providing a wide range of mobility options which encourage a shift to more sustainable forms of mobility, new recreational qualities are created, synergies between commercial and non-commercial uses are maximized, and a new, user-friendly orientation system is developed. By overlaying functional and microclimatic requirements, multicoded open spaces will be created which provide recreational qualities for diverse user groups across all times of the day and of the year. For the design and activation of these spaces, a comprehensive participation concept will be developed, ranging from ways of temporarily displaying the future route to the active participation in the design of individual building blocks.
