the urban design proposal connects existing elements within the heterogeneous gasometer neighborhood. the project generates both a representative and spatially tangible forecourt for the historic buildings and a public backbone for the new productive city district. the central park is given its form by its main path network. the revitalization process starts from the pathways and gradually encompasses active areas and plots that are not yet available. the gasometer neighborhood lies at the interface between old agricultural and industrial grounds, growing residential areas and new productive functions. the characteristic diversity and roughness of the area are preserved and recomposed in a continuous patchwork.
