an urban wood and a continuous system of public spaces and pedestrian bridges are used to create a new identity and reconnect the divided territory under the collapsed morandi bridge. new lines of trees, like a bar code, emphasize the linearity of the valley. these seams of trees generate a characteristic and recognizable urban matrix while equally adapting to the different functions of the city: productive zones, residential areas, infrastructure, and a leisure park. By providing shade and promoting horizontal fresh air corridors between the sea and the mountains, this urban forest improves the microclimate. The system of pedestrian bridges crosses the Polcevera stream and the railway tracks and leads through a series of a variety of introverted spaces. Its zigzag shape pays homage to the former bridge and symbolizes the re-stitching of the urban matrix.
