for the innstraße, the shopping mall as well as the access to the city center of rosenheim a long-term design concept was requested. bauchplan ).( enters into a dialogue with the inhabitants and owners with the needed competency to turn spaces into organized spacial structures that can be adopted by the locals. with the help of community walks through the town people can mark objects and places that they consider important in their own streets, no matter if they find them beautiful, typical etc. marking those objects they give them back to the rosenheim‘s public. a vendor‘s tray provides people with ribbons, that help turn the innstreet temporarily into a decorative place that reveals new perceptions on their own hometown. In the surrounding restaurants personal opinions can be communicated on coasters.
the selected spots marked by the inhabitants are documented and
integrated in the new design concept which can show effect on various
levels. different actions with different timely impacts are bundled and
can be realized either by the town of rosenheim or by the inhabitants
themselves. the different actions concern spacial measures or
improvements in design or atmosphere but also motivate residents to
participate. in this process a new appearance of the innstreet is slowly
created with a high level of identification of its inhabitants. as a
further effect, the address becomes more attractive for shop owners and
show as well an effect in how the newly conceived public spaces are
perceived by the outside.
